The husband of Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Christopher O’Neill, has taken out an injunction against the magazine Bunte after unauthorised paparazzi photos of their honeymoon were published.

According to reports by German magazine, “Der Spiegel”, Princess Madeleine of Sweden’s husband, Christopher O’Neill, has taken out an injunction in the Regional Court of Hamburg against the magazine Bunte after it published unauthorised paparazzi photos of the couple’s honeymoon.
Bunte is now prohibited from circulating the photos of their honeymoon, although the decision is not yet legally binding.
Bunte’s editor-in-chief is said to have offered 20,000 euros and to sign a declaration cease and desist to settle the case out-of-court. Der Spiegel says that O’Niell decided not to accept the offer of 20,000 euros as it was lower than a previous offer.

It is not the first time the magazine “Bunte”, published by Hubert Burda Media, has faced legal problems for publishing unauthorised paparazzi photos.
During the 90’s Princess Caroline of Hannover (then Caroline of Monaco) sued Bunte as well as a number of other magazines, with the dispute eventually landing in front of the European Court of Human Rights.
Der Spiegel reports that O’Niell’s lawyer relied on this case law to support his argument for an injunction.
